Cotton Canvas

Cotton Canvas

We love the canvas’s texture since the first time we’ve touched! Cotton canvas is a natural product. Slight weaving imperfections and color variations are part of its character and beauty. We love how imperfection it is. We love to see shades changing after we have used them for a long time and we love that this fabric can grow up with us.

We’ve chosen 14 oz cotton canvas with double strands to increase the fabric’s fullness to extend the lifetime longer. We always use spinning and woven canvas in Thailand (In fact, we try very hard to use materials that are available in our country because we do not want to increase the enormous pollution that occurs from the transportation of raw materials from abroad to Thailand each time and above of all, we have good things in the country and why don’t we use it?)

To minimize the impact that these chemicals can have on the environment, we choose dyeing factory that has same vision. The factory use less chemical substances call ‘Enzease’ that they invented together with BIOTEC (a member of National center of genetic engineering and biotechnology in Thailand) that help reduce toxic from dyeing manufacturing and also use less electrical energy.

WILL THE CANVAS COLOR FADE OVER TIME?

Of course! The color of our canvas bags may fade overtime. Dark bag like black is going to eventually turn grey especially when exposed to sunlight. Lighter colors will also fade, but it’s less noticeable. This just adds to the character of the bag it will develop a beautiful and unique style. Think of your favorite pair of jeans! If you don’t care for that “lived in” look, then canvas bags are probably not for you.

CARE FOR CANVAS PRODUCTS

Spot clean your bags with a damp sponge or bristle brush. If the bag is heavily soiled, use mild soap and cold water, and do this only if necessary and on specific areas. Never use detergent. Do not machine wash or machine dry.

recycled polyester

recycled polyester

At the end of 2019 was our first beginning to bring recycled fabric from used plastic bottles to TA.THA.TA products which are called “reLife”  It made by 100% recycled polyester that made from used plastic bottles. Our goal is giving a second life to a material that’s not biodegradable and would otherwise end up in ocean to achieve maximum benefit.

Virgin polyester traditionally produced using an energy-intensive chemical reaction involving coal, petroleum, air and water. In contrast, recycled polyester is created from 100% recycled plastic bottles and the production process requires less natural resources like water, energy or fuel than in the case of virgin polyester. Let’s talk about quality,  quality of recycled polyester is very similar to virgin polyester. By using recycled polyester, we’re able to reduce the amount of waste that’s in circulation on the planet and make some of it into something useful.

The recycled polyester we use is supplied by our partner in Thailand, who is a global leader in producing recycled fabric. We are committed to ensuring our factories follow international standards regarding labor, wages and safety practices.
